About This Product

Product Overview

A chamber that is self-contained provide with door consisting toughened glass for visuals. This chamber is designed to spray mist through nozzles provided. The Nozzles are provided on the side and bottom panels.

The Mist shower is equipment used to shower spray of mist to cleanse the personnel’s suit when passed through it. The shower works through providing a fine atomized fog to eradicate any loose powders to the user garment to prevent them from becoming airborne.

Guide

What is a mist shower and how does it work?

A mist shower is a stainless steel chamber placed at the exit of an area where powders are handled. A person leaving the area stands in it for a short cycle while nozzles spray a fine, atomised mist over their protective garment before they take it off.

The mist wets the loose powder sitting on the outside of the gown, so it sticks to the fabric instead of becoming airborne. Without that step, powder shaken off the gown during degowning can float into the change room and beyond, carrying the product out of the area and exposing people to it. It matters most where potent or hazardous materials are handled, such as active ingredients, hormones and oncology drugs.

It works the opposite way to an air shower. An air shower blows particles off a gown on the way in; a mist shower holds powder on the gown on the way out, so it leaves with the garment rather than in the air. Our mist shower has nozzles in the side and bottom panels, their number set by the chamber size, a toughened glass vision panel in the door, 40 mm puff-insulated doors with electromagnetic interlocking and HEPA and pre-filters.

What goes into our mist shower

Fine mist nozzles

Nozzles in the side and bottom panels, their number set by the size of the chamber, spray a fine atomised mist over the garment.

Insulated doors with vision panel

40 mm puff-insulated doors, with toughened glass so people can see into the chamber.

Electromagnetic interlocking

The doors are interlocked so the chamber cannot be bypassed and only one door opens at a time.

Air in the chamber passes through a pre-filter and a HEPA filter rated 99.99% down to 0.3 micron.

Pressure ports

Ports for pressure checks are fitted on the chamber.

Buying guide

How to choose the right mist shower

Mist shower or air shower

Use a mist shower at the exit of powder areas to hold powder on garments; use an air shower at the entry to clean areas to remove particles.

Chamber size

Size the chamber to the number of people leaving at once; the nozzle count follows the chamber size.

Water supply and drainage

Plan the water supply to the nozzles and drainage for the chamber floor at the planning stage.

Power supply

Our standard mist shower runs on 220 V, 50 Hz and draws 1,100 W; make sure a suitable supply is available at the location.

Material grade

Choose SS 316 or SS 316L where the chamber is washed and disinfected often.

Installation

The chamber sits in the wall between the process area and the degowning room. We install and commission our mist showers.

Do you supply and install mist showers outside Pune?

Yes. We manufacture in Pune and supply, install and commission mist showers across India, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. Share your requirement and we will send a quotation.

What is the difference between a mist shower and an air shower?

An air shower blows particles off garments at the entry to a clean area. A mist shower sprays a fine mist at the exit of a powder area so loose powder sticks to the garment and does not become airborne during degowning.

Where is a mist shower installed?

At the exit of an area where powders, especially potent or hazardous ones, are handled, just before the degowning room. It is built into the wall between the two rooms.
