About Cleanroom Furniture
Furniture Built for Cleanroom-Grade Environments
We make stainless steel cleanroom furniture for pharmaceutical, biotech, hospital and food-processing facilities, where every bench, locker and rack in a classified area is a surface that has to stay clean.
When you choose cleanroom furniture, check that it is made of a non-shedding, non-porous material that is easy to clean, robust and hygienic, and that it suits the area and process it will serve. That is why we build in stainless steel, with smooth surfaces and as few dirt traps as possible.
Neelansh Equipments & Machines manufactures stainless steel cleanroom furniture in-house in Pune, including cross-over benches, visual inspection tables, lockers, cupboards and racks. We supply and install it across India, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

What makes furniture suitable for a cleanroom?
Ordinary furniture sheds particles, traps dust in joints and corrodes under repeated disinfection. Cleanroom (or clean room) furniture is designed the other way round: smooth, non-porous surfaces that do not shed, rounded edges and corners that are easy to wipe, continuous welds with no crevices for dirt and microbes to collect, and no hollow spaces that cannot be cleaned.
Stainless steel is the material of choice because it is hard, non-porous and stands up to daily cleaning with disinfectants and sporicides. Open or tubular frames let the room's filtered air flow around and under the furniture, instead of creating dead zones where particles settle.
If you are upgrading for revised Schedule M, our equipment checklist maps each requirement to the equipment that serves it.

Materials
SS 304 or SS 316 for cleanroom furniture?
SS 304 is the standard grade for cleanroom furniture and suits most pharmaceutical, biotech, hospital and food areas. SS 316 contains molybdenum, which gives better resistance to pitting from chlorides and strong oxidising disinfectants. It is worth choosing for aseptic areas and rooms disinfected several times a day.
Finish matters as much as grade: a smooth matt or mirror finish, ground and polished welds and rounded edges are what make a surface quick to clean and slow to collect contamination. Furniture is usually planned together with the room's cleanroom equipment, such as pass boxes and laminar air flow units.
Buying guide
What to check before you buy cleanroom furniture
Room class and cleaning routine
Higher classes and frequent disinfection call for SS 316, sealed welds and fully open or fully closed designs with no hidden voids.
Edges, welds and joints
Look for rounded edges, continuous ground welds and no exposed threads, gaps or overlapping sheets.
Open frames and airflow
Tubular frames and perforated or slatted shelves let filtered air move freely.
Feet and floor contact
Adjustable or sealed feet that level the unit and keep the floor easy to clean underneath.
Sizes to the room
Furniture sized to your room and workflow, from bench lengths to locker compartments.
Delivery and fitting
A manufacturer who delivers and installs, so units are levelled and placed correctly.

Questions
Cleanroom furniture F.A.Q.
Why is stainless steel used for cleanroom furniture?
It is hard, non-porous and does not shed particles, and it withstands daily cleaning with disinfectants. Rounded edges and continuous welds make it quick to clean and hard for contamination to collect.
Should I choose SS 304 or SS 316 furniture?
SS 304 suits most cleanrooms. SS 316 resists pitting from chlorides and strong disinfectants better, so it is the safer choice for aseptic areas and rooms disinfected several times a day.
What is a cross-over bench used for?
It is a gowning bench in the change room. Staff sit on it, change footwear and swing their legs over, so the bench marks a physical line between the less clean and the clean side.
Do you supply and install cleanroom furniture outside Pune?
Yes. We manufacture in Pune and supply and install across India, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
