About This Product
Product Overview
Air shower are made of high grade stainless steel (304/316/316L) with standard components for efficient operation.
Key functions: removes dust from personnel and materials; prevents contamination entry into cleanrooms; minimizes airborne particle transfer; maintains cleanroom cleanliness; enhances contamination control.
Guide
What is an air shower and how does it work?
An air shower is a small stainless steel chamber at the entrance to a cleanroom. People, and sometimes trolleys or materials, pass through it on the way in, and high-velocity jets of filtered air blow loose dust, fibres and particles off their garments before they reach the clean area.
Inside the chamber, a blower draws air through a pre-filter and a HEPA filter and pushes it out through stainless steel nozzles in the walls and ceiling. The jets strike the gown at high speed, shaking the fabric so that particles caught on it are lifted off. Air drawn back into the return grilles near the floor passes through the filters again, so the particles removed from the gown are trapped rather than released into the room. A shower cycle usually runs for 10 to 30 seconds while the person turns slowly with arms raised.
The two doors are interlocked, so only one can be open at a time, and the cycle runs with both doors closed. That stops corridor air from blowing straight into the cleanroom and makes sure nobody walks through without being showered. Our air showers have 6, 12 or more stainless steel nozzles on the left, right and top, a jet velocity of 18 to 28 m/s, an EU 5 pre-filter and a HEPA filter with 99.97% efficiency.
Types
Air shower types we manufacture

Air shower for personnel
A single chamber with two glass-panel doors for people entering a cleanroom, with 6, 12 or more nozzles depending on the chamber size.

Air shower tunnel
A longer chamber that several people, or people with trolleys and materials, pass through, with HEPA-filtered jets along its length and infrared sensor operation.
Applications
Where air showers are used
Pharmaceutical plants
At the entry to tablet, liquid and sterile production areas, after the change room.
Biological manufacturing
Entry to vaccine, fermentation and cell culture suites.
Air and space industry
Entry to assembly cleanrooms where dust can damage precision parts.
Food processing
Entry to hygienic processing and packing areas.
Research laboratories
Entry to labs that work in a controlled, low-particle environment.
Material entry
Air shower tunnels let trolleys and materials be showered on their way into the clean area.
Buying guide
How to choose the right air shower
People and traffic
A single air shower suits steady entry by one or two people at a time; a tunnel suits shift changes and people moving with trolleys.
Chamber size
Size the chamber to the people and items passing through, and to the space between the change room and the cleanroom.
Number and position of nozzles
More nozzles, on both sides and the top, cover the whole body. Larger chambers need more nozzles.
Cycle time and controls
Decide the shower time your entry procedure needs and whether you want a PLC and HMI panel and an hour meter. Electromagnets hold one door shut while the other is open, with door bells and light indicators showing when it is safe to open. A shower cycle timer is standard on the tunnel; a PLC and HMI control panel and an hour meter are available as options.
Material grade
SS 304 suits most sites; SS 316 or 316L where strong disinfectants or corrosive conditions are present. The chamber is built in the stainless steel grade you choose, with smooth panels that are easy to wipe down.
Installation and filters
Plan wall openings, power supply and access for changing filters. We install and commission our air showers. An EU 5 pre-filter protects the 99.97% HEPA filter, which cleans the air before it reaches the nozzles.
How we work
From enquiry to installation
Every air shower is built to order through the same six stages, so it fits your site and the way you work.
- 01
Planning: your cleanroom entry route, people and traffic
- 02
Evaluation: chamber size, nozzles, filters, controls and material
- 03
Inspection: wall openings, ceiling height and power supply at your site
- 04
Design: drawings shared for your approval before fabrication
- 05
Manufacturing: fabricated in-house at our Pune factory
- 06
Installation: delivered, installed and commissioned at your site
Supply across India
Air shower manufacturer in Pune, supplying across India
Neelansh Equipments & Machines manufactures air showers and air shower tunnels in-house at our factory in Hadapsar, Pune, and supplies, installs and commissions them across India, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
An air shower is one step in the entry route into a clean area. Our change room guide covers the whole route, including whether you need an air shower. People usually change at a cross-over bench first, and materials go in through a pass box rather than the air shower. Where powders are handled, a mist shower is used at the exit. See our full range of cleanroom equipment, and send us your requirement with the chamber size and number of people for a quotation. For doorways where staff walk through without stopping, an air curtain keeps dust and insects out.

Questions
F.A.Q.
Do you supply and install air showers outside Pune?
Yes. We manufacture in Pune and supply, install and commission air showers across India, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. Share your requirement and we will send a quotation.
How long does an air shower cycle take?
A typical cycle runs for 10 to 30 seconds while the person turns slowly with arms raised. The time is set to suit your entry procedure; our air shower tunnel has a programmable shower cycle timer.
What is the difference between an air shower and an air shower tunnel?
An air shower is a single chamber for one or two people at a time. An air shower tunnel is longer, so several people, or people with trolleys and materials, can be showered as they pass through.
