SS Containers

Stainless steel containers hold raw materials, intermediates and finished bulk between the steps of a process: from dispensing to granulation, from one machine to the next, or into storage until the next stage is ready. A good container keeps the material clean and identified, closes tightly so nothing gets in or out, and is easy to clean and inspect before it is used for the next batch.

Stainless steel is the usual choice because it does not react with most materials, does not shed particles and withstands cleaning with water, detergents and disinfectants. SS 304 suits most uses; SS 316 contains molybdenum, which gives better resistance to chlorides and harsher chemicals, so it is preferred for product contact and for corrosive or saline materials.

Our SS containers are made in SS 304 or SS 316 with a matt or mirror finish. They come with a tight-fitting SS lid and clamps that lock the lid down, ergonomic side handles for lifting, and a reinforced round base that stands steady and protects the bottom edge. Storage containers start at 5 litres, and the size is made to suit your batch.

Pressure vessels are a different job. They are closed containers used to hold and move liquids under pressure or vacuum, for example to push a solution from one stage to the next with compressed air or nitrogen, often through a filter, instead of pumping it. Our SS pressure vessels have a conical top, a bolted closure, heavy-duty locking clamps, side handles, a reinforced base ring, support legs and an outlet or drain connection, in capacities from 5 litres up to 5,000 litres. Working pressure, vacuum duty and nozzle positions are agreed for each order.

We also make in-process (IPC) bins, which carry powders and granules between stages such as blending, granulation and compression, and sterilisation bins. Tell us what you need to carry and how it is filled and emptied, and we will suggest the right container type.
