SS Stirrer

An SS stirrer, also called an overhead stirrer or mixer, is a motor-driven shaft with an impeller at its end that is lowered into a vessel to mix liquids. It is used to dissolve solids, blend liquids and keep suspensions even in containers and vessels during manufacturing and preparation.

The motor sits at the top of a stand and turns a stainless steel shaft. At the bottom of the shaft, the impeller's blades push the liquid around and through the vessel, creating a flow pattern that draws material from the bottom and sides into the mix. The faster the impeller turns, the more vigorous the mixing; thin liquids mix well at high speed, while thicker or foaming products need slower, steady stirring.

Our industrial stirrer has a 1,000 W carbon brush motor with stepless speed control from 0 to 2,800 rpm, a 140 mm diameter working head and a stirring capacity of 5 to 120 litres. It runs on 220 to 230 V, 50 Hz. The stand has an easily adjustable height and a mobile base with lockable castor wheels, so the stirrer can be moved between vessels and set to the right depth for each one. It is available in single, double and triple versions.

We also make a pneumatic stirrer, which runs on compressed air instead of an electric motor. Air-driven stirrers have no electric motor at the mixing head, which is why they are commonly chosen where solvents or other flammable materials are mixed.
