SS Die Punch Cabinet

A die punch cabinet is a stainless steel cabinet with drawers and fitted trays that store the punches and dies of a tablet press when they are not on the machine. Tablet tooling is precise and expensive: a scratched punch tip, a chipped die or a little rust shows up as defects on every tablet it makes. Proper storage protects it between batches.

Each drawer holds trays with a fitted place for each punch and die, so tools never touch each other and a missing piece is obvious at a glance. Keeping each set together, one upper punch, one lower punch and one die per station, makes it quick to check sets in and out, and keeping tooling for different products in separate, labelled drawers avoids mix-ups. Lockable drawers mean only the tool room can issue tooling.

Tooling comes in standard sizes, and the trays have to match it. B tooling has a 19 mm punch barrel and a 30.16 mm die; BB tooling uses the same punch barrel with a smaller 24 mm die; D tooling has a larger 25.35 mm punch barrel and a 38.10 mm die. Our cabinets are made for B, BB and D tooling, in designs that store 30, 40 or 50 sets.

Our die punch cabinets are built in SS 304 or SS 316 in a matt or mirror finish, with smoothly running drawers, customised trays and a centralised or individual locking system with two keys for each lock. We make vertical and horizontal cabinets, provide caps, and also make powder-coated MS HPLC column cabinets for laboratories. We have found 1,500 mm to be a comfortable height and have supplied cabinets up to 1,800 mm.
