What are cleanroom lockers and how are they used?
Cleanroom lockers are stainless steel cabinets with separate lockable compartments, placed in the change rooms that lead into pharmaceutical, biotech and laboratory clean areas. They give each person a secure, cleanable place for the things that must not go any further: street shoes, outdoor clothing, phones, wallets, watches and jewellery.
Entry to a clean area follows a fixed gowning sequence. In the first change room, people take off their street shoes and leave personal belongings in a locker, change into factory footwear and garments, then wash and dry their hands before moving on. The locker is where the outside world stops: anything left in it stays in the unclassified side of the change room. Shoe lockers keep footwear apart from clothing, and ventilated doors let shoes air out instead of trapping moisture and odour.
Because change rooms are cleaned and disinfected often, lockers there need smooth, corrosion-resistant surfaces without joints that hold dirt. Our SS lockers are built in SS 304 or SS 316 in a matt or mirror finish, with lockable compartments, adjustable SS legs with bushes, and wheels where they need to move. Sizes and the number of compartments are made to suit your change room.

How to choose the right lockers
Number of compartments
Count the people per shift, and add spares for visitors and new staff.
Belongings or shoes
Choose storage lockers for belongings, shoe lockers for footwear, or a combined locker with shoe rack.
Lock type
Decide between key and combination locks, and who keeps master keys. Secure locking on each compartment, with combination locks available.
Ventilation
Ventilated doors suit shoe lockers and any compartment where damp items are kept.
Material
SS 304 or SS 316 for frequently disinfected change rooms; powder-coated MS for dry staff areas. Stainless steel for change rooms; powder-coated mild steel personal lockers, including 20-compartment and mobile versions, where the area allows it.

What is the difference between a shoe locker and a storage locker?
A shoe locker has many small compartments with ventilated doors for footwear. A storage locker has larger compartments for personal belongings and clothing. Both are made in SS 304 or SS 316 with lockable compartments.
