SS Working Table

A working table is the everyday work surface of a production area, lab or wash room: where parts are assembled, samples prepared, materials sorted and packed, and tools laid out. In a clean area it is also one of the surfaces cleaned most often, so its design has to make cleaning quick and thorough.

Stainless steel tops resist disinfectants and do not rust, chip or absorb liquids. Smooth, welded frames without cracks or open seams leave nowhere for dirt and microbes to hide, and round legs collect less dust than sharp-edged sections. Undershelves keep items off the floor, and adjustable feet keep the top level on uneven floors so nothing rolls off and the table does not rock while people work.

Our SS working tables are built in SS 304 or SS 316. The standard working table has a three-tier design, a top with two undershelves, on adjustable SS legs, and is built for high loads. The table with storage adds three lockable drawers and open shelves under the top, so tools and documents can be kept at the workstation. Sizes are made to suit your room and work.

Height and layout are the details most often overlooked. A table for standing work should let people work without bending over it; a table used with chairs or stools needs knee room under the top, so drawers are best placed at one side. Heavy items belong on the lowest shelf, close to the floor, where they keep the table stable, while lighter items and documents go higher. Leave space around the table so its legs and undershelves can be cleaned as easily as the top.

When several tables go into one room, keep their heights the same so they can be placed side by side as one long work surface, and match them to nearby machines or conveyors where products are passed across. A consistent height also makes it easier to share chairs and stools between stations.
